Dear Logbook, thirteen day of the fourth and last trip.
In the yesterday’s walk, I could enjoy of the small amount of snow that fall down in the morning. It is true that four snowflakes can embellish so much to a city.
When I arrived home, I rested for a while and then It was time for having dinner. We had already dinner in Spain very soon. But here, a bit earlier, we have normally dinner before 7PM.
After dinner I got my last injection G-CSF (Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor). About these injections that I have been pricking myself, I have already spoken to you on more than one occasion. While I am writing to you now, it has not yet dawned, the pelvis is hurting and I have woken up for it. I have already taken Oxycodona to alleviate those pains. The fact is that due to my potions received on the high seas. In the second week of each trip I find myself in a situation of Neutropenia, what it is, very low or almost zero neutrophil values. As I have had in the second week of each trip. Well, the G-CSF helps upload them. It is used in many circumstances, all generally associated with neutropenia. The fact is that yesterday I put on the last one, I hope and pray, that it will be for months or years. But as I have been saying since the origin of this expedition. What has to be will be, and so we have to live with it. Facing the adversities of the face and trying to make it with the best possible attitude, for oneself and for the environment around you.
Today the day is expected to be clear, which many implies, that it is a day with cool temperatures … or less than 0. Something that is normal, when we are so close to the North Pole. That will not take away that in the morning I take my walk of rigor, short not more than 7 km. I want to continue extending my restricted walks at that distance for another week along with an iron-rich diet.
After lunch, then we will rest until the arrival of some great friends with whom we will talk for a while, until they have to leave for a company dinner, leaving us at their little sailors, Alba and Adrián to spend the afternoon and evening. What to say, that Gadea and Martín, are more than happy. To have your “Sleepover”, come on, what has been in Spanish, sleep and play with your friends. How much we will miss you from July!
And my dear and faithful Diary, tomorrow more.
