Dear Logbook, 15th day of the second trip.
At the end of yesterday we went to see a flat, and now we have to wait for answers from others to close this topic as soon as possible. Then we had dinner and, being today a school day and Monday, we went to bed early.
Last night I slept for about 4:30 in a row and from then on, little more. I was reading for a while and then continued resting until 6.30 AM, when everyone got up, because today I had to go to the KS. Before that, I prepared breakfast for the little sailors and then took them to school. After leaving them there, the carriage was waiting for me to take me to the KS. As I told you, today I had the PET test. I arrived at the KS around 8.00 and at 8.15 they had already inserted the I-V line and I was drinking the jar of water they gave me (600ml). Then, at 9.00, it was time to put the isotopes in the body.
At 10.00, time to move to the room where they had that curious machine. And in a matter of 20 minutes I was already out. Ready and willing to go and have breakfast.
After breakfast, I went for a walk around the city. Today I decided to enter the cemetery of Solna, where Alfred Nobel is buried. And then I walked aimlessly through the city. Today I have unwittingly walked about 13.5 km, arriving home without signs or symptoms of clear tiredness. I still feel good, so I am very happy.
After arriving home, time to have lunch and rest. One thing I think I did tell you, my dear diary, is that at 2:00 pm I usually inject myself with heparin, as one of my swollen glands was near a vein and the members of the KS crew were afraid that it could generate thrombi. That is why I have had injections punctually since last September 4th. Those who know me well also know ‘my love’ for everything related to medicine and especially the needles … I have kept an approximate count of needles since I started this expedition and the previous months (since May). I have counted about 22 blood tests and about 16 I-V lines in my arms … Something that makes me get used to it and not get dizzy.
In the afternoon, time to rest and do the usual chores. And Dear diary, tomorrow, I hope to remember and tell you about food or mouth care.
