Dear Logbook, forty-second day of a new life.
Yesterday my Diary made the excursion to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island in the morning and in the afternoon we took the ferry to Staten Island and then back ride through the Wall Street area.
On the morning walk we walked from the hotel to the famous, for the movies, Central Station. Every day that passes you see areas that you already knew from the movies, which makes it curious, to be able to see with your own eyes what you already knew. In this case, it always seems bigger or smaller, in general this second. At the central station we took the subway to the Battery park. Where after passing a security check we could catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty Island. Once there we toured the island, the pedestal and then the museum. We could not climb to the crown, because this must be done months in advance. Having seen the above mentioned, we took the ferry to Ellis Island, where Marta and I were impressed by that Island, which was the last step in past decades to enter the United States through this state, I suppose. Seeing the exhibition of what is reflected there, you realize how hard it had to be. After that we took the ferry to Staten Island where we took a walk and did some clothes shopping. And back in Manhattan, we walked around the Wall Street area with the typical visit of the Bull and the New York Stock Exchange. Already later with the whole crew exhausted, heading back to the hotel to rest and gain strength for today.
Today the day will be a walk in the southern part of the island, and depending on how we will see, Yesterday at the end it was raining all day.
For my part, few changes. There is less left for Monday to tell me a little what to do. What bothers me the most these days are the heels at the end of the day. It is sometimes a very sharp pain. Anyway, patience and we’ll see.
And my Diary, tomorrow more.
