Dear Logbook, eighth day of a new life.
Yesterday was a very good day. In general, they tend to be, some better, others less. But basically all of them are good. But two things happened yesterday that made me extremely happy. The first thing that happened is that in view of the positive echocardiogram on Tuesday, I decided to go jogging going a little further in terms of rhythm. I did not run at a devilish pace, but very well, I think, for my current physical form. So on that side, those 8km below 5’45 ’/ km made me very happy. And the second thing, that “pufff” made this group cry again is that in the Corporate Bulletin of TYPSA, that company that I joined about 18 years ago, have written a review of my expedition. Tears of emotion, of happiness, of joy because they love us or at least I feel that way.Colleagues, again thanks for remembering this Castilian family that also loves you a lot. In April, if nothing strange happens, we will see and celebrate with you that TOGETHER we have paddled and blown the sails so that this ship has reached the island. Thanks friends. You are something big for these two “compact” people. We love you very much.
For my part both yesterday and today I remain the same. Arthritis in the hands is still there, it doesn’t improve. Perhaps the feeling of loss of sensation is somewhat less now than days ago. But the difference is small. And it worries or bothers me less than the pains in my fingers when I do something. As I told you, I removed the alliance, and even the inflammation in the ring finger prevents me from putting it back on. Well, as they say, it will happen in months or years. Patience is what you have to have. Or as a very good friend says, “Fuck-patience.” With regard to sleep, for the time being those days where I slept little with pills still remain further and further away. That is, now I sleep between 7 and 9 hours depending on the day and what time I go to bed. So happy.
And today, I have decided, that I am going to take a ride with the bike after leaving the grumetillos at school and having English classes. Without a clear course, or a definite goal, except to get home. Today I don’t know how much I’ll ride with the bike. It will be 15, 20 or 40 kilometers, whatever time and desire allow me.
I have to take advantage of the abnormality of the time we are having in Stockholm. Normally, I will tell you, my Diary, that we now have ice and snow on the streets, the lakes and canals are frozen, etc. But it’s not like that. It has not rained for several weeks, and with the temperatures there are, if something falls from the sky it would be water and not snow. Anyway, we will take advantage of the fact that this is half dry, to take a walk beyond the island where we now live, Reimersholmen. Heading perhaps to other islands.
And after the walk it may be time to rest a little. We will see.
And my Diary, for today I think nothing more.
